today was amazing.
listening to intellectual minds debate about a global issue. wow. it was soo intellectually stimulatung. it was a great dialogue session organised my smu and iseas (institute of south east asian studies, nus) with THE george soros. chaired by prof tommy koh (he is so funny) and others on the discussion panel were kishore maububani and some nus professors, and one final year student from nus and smu. woah. i wish there'd be more of these.
for more info and enlightenment, you could visit www.soros.org.
it was so funny, soros was like 'i do not consider myself responsible for the financial crisis nor any of the colour revolutions.' haah.
i tell u nus students are soo hesitant to ask questions. but this smu student was like, don't you think you're after a lost cause? (referring to soros giving financial aid to european countries to open up their economies) hello!! you don't ask the THE george soros if his is a lost cause. gah. it's like saying that the fight against aids is a lost cause, or bono's 'make poverty history' campaign is ultimately going nowhere. even though the results aren't immediate, it doesn't mean you put them down right?
ah, i tell you. after being intellectually stimulated you get damn hungry. haha.
anyway joel, wrt to your qn...nus mid sem break is from the 19thof feb to the 23rd of feb. if youre asking this to book a challet i say not a good idea, cos we have mid terms right after the break (what break?? gah.) and its usually ends up as a last minute cramming session. :S not exactly very plesant. haha. can wait till late april/early may? please?
