leavin' on a jet plane

Hi peepz!

Guess you've not heard fr me for a while. Past mth been quite hectic, past wk was one of the busiest and eventful wks of my life, and guess wat, i'm flying off to Taiwan tonight for overseas training! Will only be back end Apr. Moan...when will my break ever come???

Aniwae last wk mon started off on a bright note...i was offered an overseas MPA scholarship! They told me since i'm planning to study econs they can place me in a department dealing with EDB, essentially doing economic-related stuff. So that sounds good. Then i rushed back to camp, prepared my orders, presented my orders and got ready to push out for my BPT (battalion proficiency test) on Tue morn. Going to deploy out there in the wilderness for the whole wk.

BPT is like the most impt test for my unit and we absolutely MUST PERFORM, otherwise our commanding officer won't get promoted (haha it's true). So perform we did, i slept only a couple hours the next few days, and dat really sux. Then on thur evening when ex cut and we're bout to return to camp, one of my guys can't find his bayonet. We combed the area, can't find, returned to camp and went back that same night to search again. Still can't find, everybody was damn shagged by then and my OC was pissed at me for the lost bayonet. Well, the burden of responsibility, sighz...

So Fri morn in daylight we went back to search but to no avail. i went out to dabao lunch with my driver and then, in my ignorance, tried to park (i was the vehicle commander) the military rover in a civilian car park. Horror of horrors, kenna spotted by my unit's CO (commanding officer) who was there also. Needless to say, he told me off. Later i realized he'd given me 7 extra (which means 7 days of duty). Sadness...

In the end, the bayonet remains mysteriously lost, me and the guy who lost the bayonet receiving punishments and i've gotten on the wrong end of both my OC and CO. And bcos of tis BPT and the Taiwan trip i've missed out on PUB and Firefly 1st rd interviews. Then yestrday the Firefly person called to reschedule my interview to today. Yay, so i went for it tis morn, and later the interviewer told me i'd done well. But the 2nd rd will be next wk or the wk after, when i'm in Taiwan. So gg again.

During these times i feel quite shit, that all the timing go wrong. But i thank God for small mercies, that i'm still safe and sound, and at least i've secured 1 scholarship thus far. Yep and i intend to enjoy myself up in Taiwan lol.

Btw, congrats Gary, you'll prob be better off in the long run. Those travelling overseas, do take care. NS guys, well juz persist on and dun get xtra duties like me hehe. And local galz, yong4 gong1 du2 shu1. Nooj, go figure. So long, my dearest mates. Hope to see you all in a mth's time or so. Really look forward to the chalets...
