hawai'i rocks!

because it is sunny and looks a lot like singapore!!

shaved ice= ice kachang

parade = chingay

kona international airport = sentosa's asian village!

hawai'i is really touristy, but i still like it a lot! there are many worthy things to see and do, unlike cancun which has nothing much to see and we just go party almost every night eeeks

Waikiki beach! The waves from Pacific Ocean are moderately strong and many people are surfing or learning to surf! 6 of us tried the 'outrigger' which we thought was a normal canoe, but turned out we are supposed to ride the waves! Our first try was a success and it was exhilarating as the waves carried our outrigger at full speed towards the shore!! the second try was a failure because our arms were too tired, so the wave came and our outrigger submerged HAHAHA

Diamond Head! It was quite a hike but the view was great! behind me is the lovely Pacific Ocean!! and the 'depression' is the crater!

Lindy photo-whoring on MY camera!

My favorite part of the trip is driving around Big Island, the biggest island of the Hawaii state! It doesn't seem very big to me but it's actually larger than Singapore!! There is one highway that loops around the island and we basically made one round in that day! Thankfully 4 out of 5 in the car have driver's license else we would not have made it back to the airport in time for our flight!

I was lucky because the part which I drove was mostly scenic sights of the Pacific Ocean! Very inspired to do more road trips like this in California! :)

Kilauea volcano, one of the active volcanoes on Big Island! This is the huge caldera (that was caused by a crater collapsing inward)! All the sec3 geog stuff starts coming back! so cool!!

We drove all the way down to near the sea level hoping to see lava flowing into the sea. But it started raining and we only got to take pics with these black rocks that are cooled and solidified lava!

A cultural Lu'au dinner-cum-show at a sentosa-ish place called paradise cove.

Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor, mourning the deaths during the attack by the Japanese in WWII.

Lindy can post more photos later haha. Now do you understand why I feel like crying when i arrived back in ithaca (after 12hr flights, 4 hr delay during transit (GRRRRR) and 5 hr drive from new york airport), only to be welcomed by falling snow? :(
